About Lisa Chaikin
Please welcome Lisa Chaikin to FHUSD.
Lisa is very excited about teaching middle school and high school art and working to help students make progress in their art education. Lisa loves teaching art and helping all students gain an appreciation of visual art and the beauty around us.
Lisa attended the Rhode Island School of Design fine arts program and graduated from Fashion Institute, with a focus in Textile Design. She returned to Western Governors University to earn her teaching certificate in education. Lisa has taught art in several charter and public schools over the past three years in Peoria, Glendale, and Phoenix areas and looks forward to bringing her expertise and love of visual art education to the students in FHUSD.
When Lisa is not teaching art, she creates mixed-medium works using an assortment of paper, paint, embroidery, photocopies, and ink. Lisa uses her spare time trying out art supplies and then incorporating new and exciting ideas into the classroom. She hopes to author and illustrate a children’s picture book about friendships and the differences that make us who we are.
Lisa shares her life with husband Greg, who enjoys playing his guitar while Lisa sings classic rock tunes. He is a great support to Lisa’s artistic expressions that often take over the dining room. Lisa raised two children, a daughter who is an ER trauma nurse and a son who is becoming an MS or HS educator like his mom.
Welcome Lisa Chaikin to FHUSD!
